1996 GTX Wont go over 1/2 throttle

have a 1996 gtx that runs good up untill about half throttle then has no power after that?? what could be causing this a fuel problem?

Sounds like fuel filters in the carbs are clogged and/or the inline fuel filter. You have to remove the carbs to get to the filters, the inline filter should be on the fuel line to the carbs, not sure on a Sea Doo, just from doing it on my Yamaha's.

I have now herd that it might be a checkball in one of the fuel lines since it will fun fine throughout the throttle range on a full tank of gas but only has the 1/2 throttle problem on about a 1/2 tank or less of gas?? does anyone know if this could be true??

there are no checkballs in any of your fuel lines, thank god...

what there IS, though, are two filters in the caburetors, with mesh plastic screens. over time, they get gunked up with residue from the deteriorating fuel lines.

pull the carbs. clean them. on the fuel plate/pump side, you will find the screens. you can get new ones, or just blast the old ones clean with some b12 carb cleaner...
