How do you like the boat? I took mine on as a project, and have only had it in the water once on a test drive, bu I've b een real impressed with the manufacturing of the boat..

Re: 1996 Four Winns 240 Horizon

Newbie to forum:

I have a 1996 horizon 190 deluxe with a ford 5.0L fuel injected. I love the way it handles, owned it 12 years. Have always wondered why top speed was only about 40mph. Well I overheated and blew the gaskets cause of a worn out sea water pump impeller. Just got done rebuilding and took it out yesterday. Ran great got it up to 50mph with way more throttle to go. Can't wait for the next ride.

Found the check valves were melted and blocking part of exhaust in lower sterndrive. I really believe this is the best boat I could have bought. Wife and I have go to the boat show every year and we rarely find one we like better.

Now to fix the tachometer and voltage gauge, probably the rectifiers. Where are they located?

I'm not sure where they are located on your boat, but got to the Four Winns website and they should have wiring diagrams of your boat.

I love my Four Winns and have used it a lot this summer.
