So my friend was getting back from the Channel Islands semi heavy seas and in the bay he heard something pop and sure enough all the tranny fluid got spit out through the little hole in the front middle section below the motor. Picture 1. Something got released and all the fluid came out. Have no clue what was there, a set screw a temporary cap that is supposed to pop under pressure!!?
Today I took it apart and removed the motor casing 4 bolts underneath there is the silver pump body with the hex shaft that connects to the motor. Picture 2. I tried to spin it by hand and nothing. I grabbed pliers and it won't budge. Is that thing supposed to spin freely. Could that be stuck or what? Thanks in advance.

HaHaHa that's weird was there an answer to my question. This is a different boat than the one you guys are helping me with. I ordered the ring kit for the cylinder. But am wondering if I can close the hole with a short screw and some JBWeld? Also the pump shaft is stuck, can I open it and see why? What say you?

The middle not the left. It is now an empty hole.

Can't really tell from the pic. Is there threads in the hole?
If you can't get the motor/pump to move take it apart and see why???

I don't know if it's threads but you can get a screwin there. My question would be whatever got blown out of there was it a short cap or something with a longer shaft that went throughat least 1inch. If I insert a thin screw driver it goes în pretty deep at least 1 inch.
As far as the pump I do plan to take it apart today. I know there are little balls în there so got to be careful when opening it.

I opened up the pump and got the gears to move freely but once I put it all back screwed on it doesmove but with a ratchet and socket. And it moves easily.
There are 2 bigger balls and a smaller one under a spring.
