1996 evinrude intruder 175

I have 1996 hydra sport e185 bass boat. It has 175hp evinrude intruder the problem I am having is the motor will shut down when accelerating. Starts up and idles fine but when I hit the throttle hard it will shut down. I can baby it and get it up to speed. Anyone have ideas why this would happen? I don't know a lot about motor repair. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Open the low speed mixture needles 1/4 turn at a time and test run.

Possibly one or more float bowls is warped.
