1996 Evinrude Fuel Line Replacement

Correction:

Leaking rubber fuel line between the the fitting where the gas line connects to the motor and the inline filter near the oil miture pump has sprung a leak under the power head. Can I disconnect the fuel line from the inline filter add a fitting that will allow me to connect a new line to the old line and then pull the new line under the power head and into place?

The fuel filter is screwed onto the fuel pump. Follow the hose that comes from the fuel tank and then goes through the motor. The first place the hose connects to is the fuel filter. Remove the big silver screw and you will see the screen. Normally you can just clean the screen and reuse it.
