1996 Evinrude Fuel Connector - Barb pin size is 5/16"?

Hello,

I have a 1996 Evinrude 88 SPL and I made a new fuel line for a portable tank. The readily-available Atwood Evinrude female connector's barb is too small.

Is the correct size for these older motors 5/16" where the newer ones are 3/8"?

Both sizes have been used at the same time. 5/16 for smaller motors, 3/8 for larger ones. Of course 3/8" is acceptable for any of them.
