Yes, I know not to use starting fluid on a 2 stroke. Just a one time test. I know the normal procedure here is to do a carb rebuild. Is there a quick and dirty way to get it starting normally without doing a complete rebuild at the moment?

Also, does anyone have instructions for a 1996 E6RED for dis-assembly and cleaning of the carburetor and fuel pump? Thanks!

if you buy a rebuild kit they will give a schematic diagram with it ,, but its not difficult to do a carburetor rebuild, fuel pump is a little more complicated but is not impossible ,,, or maybe you want to run sea foam in it , add a can of it to the fuel and run it , it will clean some

Shouldnt use starting fluid, if anything some premix will do. Berrymans Chem dip from WallyWorld does a real good job if you go beyond the can instructions and go overnight or longer. Saved me a few times.

Starting fluid is not a good thing to use (on any engine). Too easy to use too much which can cause cracked rings, damage to the piston and/or connecting rod

Is the primer pump working ? ----How do you use that primer pump ?----There is no choke flapper on it I believe.---And the fuel pump has nothing to do with the motor starting issues.
