Hi Everyone,
I have a question as far as inspecting a Mercury prior to buying it. It is a 1996 carbed 225 3.0 offshore. Fires up and runs, But no boat to do a water test....
Never owned a merc before so i need a little direction....
Compression test:
1. Warm or cold motor?
2. whats good numbers ( all within 10%) 100+ or 120+ ?
My thoughts are to rebuild the carbs, lower unit lube change, new plugs and all anodes..
Is there anything i should know about as far as this Electronic Ignition???
Oil injection is still connected and in use and working properly- I assume it is working properly :lol:
