I have a 1996 Bayliner Capri (1850) and I'd like to replace the stereo with a new CD player, replace the two existing speakers as well as add two additional speakers. Has anyone done this before? If so, where do you place your two additional speakers? I am looking for suggestions to get the best sound.

I cut out holes on the upper sides in the middle of the front-rear facing seats and the rear seats by the engine cover. Obviously hard to describe without a picture.

Welcome to iboats!

The original two speakers in my boat were in the bulkheads under the seats at the stern. I added additional ones in the side panels, behind the throttle control box and the corresponding spot on the port side.

Re: 1996 Bayliner Capri, setero replacement

Old thread I know, but the first relevant one I've come across! I have a '94 Capri with an Audiovox marine tape deck and I'm trying to swap it out. I took the flip-down cover off only to find that that is actually part of the head unit itself...and THEN only to find that I have about 1" of slack in the wires before it pulls tight from behind!

Has anybody else had this problem when removing the old factory unit? Any tips on how on earth I can get this thing out?? I can't even see the back of the unit as it sits plugged in now.

Thanks!

Dustin

The best thing for you to do is start a new thread of your own, then people will answer your questions and not start answering the original posters question.
