I am a first time boat owner . i have a 1996 bayliner capri force 120.just had a water pump replaced. it over heated before any water started shooting out . not even as strong as before. but now to the question .this cought the attention of my one legged drunken neighber / auto machanic he came over.and pull the wire off my top two spark plugs the cylinders were not firing.he said it may be the manafold gasket . i was reading some on the forum it may be some kind of Ignition Module? but the motor was runing and cylinders 1&2 shocked him is it eleictral .

Need to do a compression test. Then a spark test.Overheat can blow the head gasket.Low compression on two cylinders next to each other could be a gasket.Running it like that can do damage to the cylinders.
Sounds like you should be nice to that drunken neighbor. He might have saved your motor!!!!
Buy him a 12pack.J
