1996 Bayliner capri 1600ls with Force 90hp outboard, speedometer not working.

I bought this boat last year (first boat). The speedo didn't work when I bought it and I'd like to get it working this year. As far as I can tell the line from the speedometer goes into the lower end of the motor and seems to be hooked up from one end to the other. Is the pitot in the lower unit on this boat? If so, how can I clean it out (if it's clogged) without compressed air? I've only seen them mounted onto the stern in other boats.

Use a small drill bit, spin it with your fingers in the gear housing water drain holes.
