Hi guys. this is my first post. I just recently purchase this boat and motor. When i first got it the assist was working on but i had to leave the motor off the boat for a few weeks to get some transom work done.... now my assist is more of just a lock for where you want the motor to sit. it still locks in place fine. from the research i've done on the forum it looks like i'm lucky as my cylinder hasn't locked up. my question is can i add oil back to the cylinder as i think leaving it laid down caused it to leak out. if i can what's the procedure to do this. i don't have a omc manual for it yet but do plan to buy one
eventually which i would imagine would have that in it. in advance thanks for any responses to help me with this problem.

The cyl may be going bad but if you can still move the mtr and lock it, keep on using it. The tilt cyl is unserviceable and don't even think about taking it apart. You could do damage to yourself.

Go to the top secret file at the beginning of this forum and look for salvage yards. You may find a complete unit.
