1996 40 hp evinrude no spark

I have a 1996 evinrude 40 model # E40TELEDS. Was running on the lake the other day with no problems. Then after having it turned off for a while I started it. The motor ran about 2 minutes and died. It has not started since. I have checked all the fuses, wires and connections I can find. Every thing looks OK. It is getting gas and will not fire on starting fluid. Pulled spark plugs and no spark on either cylinder. One of the local mechanics thinks it might be a power pack but can't look at it for 3 weeks. What exactly is a power pack? Any help would be appreciated.<br />Don

Check the kill switch circuit.It should be a black wire with a yellow stripe.Unhook it and<br />see what happens.
