1996 225hp johnson Keeps breaking power pack

See if you guys can help me here like i said in the tittle my johnson have gone tought 2 power packs 1 for each trip i only got spark on 3 cylinders already Disconnect the shift assist no help,, i notice that my stator is melting and my voltage gauge reads like 12.5 at iddle and close to 16 at wot engine temp is like at 170 at wot and it got a new timing base..

Your temp seems a bit high. When did you last change impeller?
Melting stator is a sign for time to change.
Which plugs are you using?
Did the PP stop when driving or did it happen during start up?

New water pump and tstats were replace like 3weeks ago i also think it kind of high and plugs are the recomended champions.. The 1s pp stop when i was crusing at 3k it slow and die 0 spark on 3 cylinders 2nd 1 when i was trollin like at 1200 rpms lucky i got two engines

Did it loose spark on same side?
Got any arching coils or bad plug leads and boots?
Using original solid core plug leads?

I would suspect either an arching or shorted (partly) coil. Even a partly shorting shift switch may overload and lead to loss of spark and final breakdown of PP.

i notice that before the last pp break engine was shuting down every time i put in gear and the control got super hard to move

I would have replaced shift switch together with PP.
