Hi,
Engine is a 1996 225 Saltwater Series s225turu
Started off the season with some fuel issues which lead to following:
reubuilt and cleaned carbs
Cleaned fuel filters and lines.
New racor separator
New fuel bulb etc.
New Fuel.
Cleaned out with Seafoam etc.
Engine is now running beautifully at the higher RPM's in fact it has never run better WOT. However, when I come back down to the low end the engine will stall. It will start back up but stall again when going into gear. I can put some throttle down and jump back up easily but low rpms are rough and again will fail. When I first fire up, it will idle fine, but the minute any load is put on it will stall. I am leaning toward the low pressure fuel pumps, possibly a blown diaphram, does this make sense? I replaced these 1 year ago, but I have heard about engine coughs/sneezes which can blow these.
The fuel primer bulb stays hard when everthing is running in the higher rpms but softens significantly when back at idle or running on low rpm's. Also, is there a particular pattern for when each cylinder fires?
Thank you very much.
