I bought twin 1996 225 Johnsons 2 years ago with about 80 hours on them. Both engines have what look to be ground wires (Black) on the port side of each engine charred. I also noticed the metal wire that connects the head to the lower unit is broke on both motors, but the motors run great. Electrolysis is becoming a problem. The paint is starting to come off spots on the lower unit. Have you heard of this problem before? Should I replace the ground wires? I don't want to re-create the problem.
