I just purchased a 1995 Yamaha Wave Venture. I am unable to pull on the choke knob. It seems to be stuck or somethng. Does the knob have to be in a certain position to be pulled. I checked the cables down to the carb and seems to be o.k.. The knob has a 2-lines with a lightning bolt in the middle. i even unscrewed the knob and pulled on the metal with pliers...no pull.

The knob on the right, with the picture of a choke "butterfly" It should just pull out easily?

yeah it shoudl pull out easy. Most likely its stuck. Pull off the air intake cover. the choke plates are the first ones youll see. the one deeper in the carb throat are the actual throttle plate.
If theire frozen then jsut drill out the screws and get rid of the choke system altogether and install a primer kit
