Hi, new and frustrated boat owner here. I bought a 1995 Cobia Monte Carlo last year without knowing that it was a very uncommen I/O around here(Minnesota) and that I would have trouble finding someone to work on it. I had overheating problems and found one place to work on it. They put in a new impeller and fixed a broken hose between the engine and lower unit. For this they charged me $1100 dollars, and I was happy to have it fixed. Next time out same overheating. I took it back and they told me that it would need a new water pump, and that they would get one over the winter and to call back in the sping and that they would put it in at cost. When I called back this spring they brushed me off and basically told me I was on my own. So, long story I am looking for help finding a raw water pump for the engine and if possible a recommendation on someone near the twin cities to do reliable work. I have been on these forums a bunch of times and am always impressed with how helpful you all are, and I sure would be appreciative for any help you could send my way.
Thanks, Rob

Thanks a ton Bond-o. If I can just find the part I'll be more than halfway home. Thanks a million.

You're going on the word of a "mechanic" who "fixed" your overheating problem, yet it still overheated. He charged you 1100.00 for what sounds like 150.00 worth of work. I would suggest having a boater who works on his own motor look at it for you, and try to figure out what the problem actually is. If you have to pay someone for the help, you'll still be money ahead. Good luck; and please keep us posted.
