I have a 95 Yamaha 200hp outboard. Engine starts a little hard, but runs very well once it gets going. When I restart the engine in neutral afer running for awhile (stop for a little fishing), the engine stalls when I put it in gear and give it some throttle. It'll idle along in gear at about 1000rpm, but stalls if I try to accelerate. If I nurse it and fiddle around with it for awhile, it restarts and runs fine again. Have put in new in-line gas filter, cleaned gas filter on engine, primer bulb is ok, and have had carbs cleaned. Done the simple stuff. Mechanic suggests problem may be in Alternator/Stator not putting out enough volts at low end. Says output should be 14V. Gauge on center console shows about 11V while engine is running. Any ideas?
