I have owne this pwc for 10 years now without any trouble. Last summer my sister didnt put the plugs in an flooded the hull. They tried starting it and the result was blowing the oil seals around the crankshaft. This didnt make me happy but oh well. I tore down the engine and replaced the seals cleaning everthing along the way. Yesterday the machine died at wot leaving me stranded and in need of tow. To my dismay the seals are blown out again.

I found the service manual and read about putting grease around the seals when installing. I didnt do this. Could this be the cause of them being shredded or is the crankshaft bad?

When it is running there is no vibration and after the first rebuild i gained speed on the top end.

Thoughts and input is welcome.

I would say your crank is slighly bent causing the the seals to be stressed and give out. It was probably hydro locked when flooded.

You have to pre lube seals prior to installation if not they will heat up and fail in any motor . Time for you to do some more seals.

BTW you would bend a rod if it hydro locked way before you hurt the crank .

So looking to the bright side, if it was running strong and the seals failed, most likely its failed again because of lack of lubrication.

So the new crankcase seals arrived. With yamaha lube. Now being i didnt lube at all the first time, where exactly should these be lubricated? Im guessing around the shaft, but do i also lube the front and back as i put them on?
