Help! I have a 95 sl 650 wouldent start, so replaced the stator, now, it seems to have a weak spark, but will start and run GREAT "sometimes!!" then sometimes it wont start at all, untill you put a charger on it overnight, then (most of the time) it will start and run good, and you can start it over and over again, untill its sits for awhile, and again it wont restart!, I'm going crazy and will take any advise

look for a dead cell in your battery, charge it and then remove the caps for the cells, hook some jumper cables to it , HOLDING THE CABLE ENDS AWAY FROM THE SKI, hold the cable ends together causing a fast drain on the battery, look to see if any cell bubbles if so its bad, caution do this for only a few seconds and never connect the ends close to the battery it can ignite hydrogen gasses and explode from a spark,. I use a load tester and a volt meter but most people do not have a load tester. If you attach a volt meter to the battery and touch the cables together and the meter drops below 11 volts its a bad battery, if it checks ok better clean the ground wires.

2 years is about the life of one of those but do clean your ground wires especially the main one at the engine.
