1995 Nissan 25HP Need Major Help

1995 Nissan Model 25C 2stroke<br /><br />Like I have said before in other posts I just had this motor completly rebuilt. I was running up and down the river the other day and it just died on me. Started it back up went to put it in gear and it would die (sputter & backfire while dieing). After letting it sit for a few minutes it started and ran good back to the boat ramp and then same thing. Got home put it on muffs sputter and backfired for a few seconds then ran fine then backfire and die after a few minutes...<br /><br />Then tonight. I went out put the muffs on it to start it. It started to start and died. Now all it does is like turn over but never catch (by catch: I mean start and run). I know that it has fuel and spark still. What could this be? Please help. No cash to take back to boat mechanic...

It could be anything. I would start back with whoever worked on it last and get them to troubleshoot it. If it is a reputable dealer they can determine what's wrong. If a friend of a friend's, uncle's, Fedex driver knew a guy who's best friend worked on snow blowers and fixed it as a favor for you...Your screwed.

my bet is trash in the carb bowl stopping up the main jet. A good cleaning to blow out the passages is quick and easy. Trash can come from anywhere. Bad or dirty gas from the store, water in the gas as bought or condensation in the tank, deteriorating gaskets or gasket glue.

Called my boat mechanic who worked on it. He said if it is anything along the lines that he worked with he will take care of it. So when I get a chance over the next few days I will take it down there.<br /><br />Is what exactly it is doing while pushing the e-start it turns the flywheel and everything and whines. I can pull the rope and it does not have any resistance pulling it back. Like no compression. <br /><br />Well I'll keep it posted about what he sais. If it's anything electrical or anything I will need you guys help. <br /><br />Thanks,<br />duckslayer
