1995 Mercury 135hp Black Max

I was wondering if anyone has heard anything good or bad about the 1995 Mercury 135hp Black Max. I am planning on buying a 19ft Mako with the Mercury on it. After all the motor is the heart of the boat. I do not know too much about Mercury motors. I have had a Johnson for the past couple of years. Thanks.

Bryan...a few of us in here are loyal Mercury fans...and many other's are not. Merc has made some lemons and they aren't alone. I don't have much knowledge about the '95 135 hp...but I believe it may be the smallest V-6 Merc makes. I've been out of the loop for a long time...but Merc's V-6 (if in fact your 135 is a V-6) units are excellent outboards.<br /><br />Hopefully putting your post back on top will generate some other opinions. But before you buy...there are many checks you should make first. I asssssssume you know the drill??<br /><br />Walt
