1995 Mercry 200 hp efi problem acts like it is flooded.

My problem is with my 1995 mercury 200 . It cranks fine and idles fine but when you try to take off it doesn't have enough power to plane off, just bogs down. It may do this a few times then it may take off and run fine. Last time I went out it did this but when ittook off and I was running at about 3/4 throttle I hit the trim because of some barge waves and it almost killed the motor, and it wouldn't plane off again it would just bog down. I made sure my battery was hot and still had trouble, flushed out the old gas and I don't know what to try now. Any Ideas would be very helpfull. Thanks.

Check your engine grounds and both rect/reg.

Had a guy look at it today he says it need a new fuel pump $600 installed $400 for the pump????? What is the rect/reg????

Rectifier regulator assy. Whats is your battery voltage when running?

Uhh whats was the fuel pressure? Sounds more like a stator,rectifier,voltage issue as low voltage will affect pump also.

How do you check fuel pressure, voltage showed 12vlt plus on dash when running? Thanks for info I am a do it yourselfer when I can, but this has baffled me for a while.

$20 fuel pressure tester from Harbor freight.....

voltage showed 12vlt plus on dash when running?

Over 14 volts? How much does it drop when you hit trim when running?

Well thought I should give you our fix, had to replace the fuel pump it was weak. cost of $600 but it fixed the problem. The man who worked on ours had same model and year. Just glad to get it working right!! Thanks for your help.
