I have a 1994 Carver 310 Santego with twin Mercruiser 305 engines matted to Alpha 1 drives (1995) second generation I believe.

The problem is that at full load I have difficulty getting on plane. I feel that the engines need a bit more horsepower. I have stainless steel props I am not sure of pitch but rpm seems to get up to about 5000 RPM at full throttle.
Is there an easy way to incease horsepower on this engine?
eg new carbs or carb kit? Can anyone please answer and if anyone has this vessle what props have worked well for you?

Storm911

Thats alot of boat for 305 engines they are historicly gutless you might try to vent the props or reduce the dia. but that could cause cavitation with less dia. You could also look in to a 2 barrel conversion (230 HP) but the only real anwser is to go to 5.7s and 31 foot is a lot of boat for them

Prochargers would work!
