1995 merc 115 hp ignition and choke issue

I have a 1995 merc 115hp and today went I went to launch the beeper did not beep when I turned the key So I tried to start it and it would not start unless my buddy would pump the primer bulb. We checked all the fuses and they were good After a while I decided to try again and I got the beep and it fired up but when I pushed the choke/key I got nothing... Do I need a new ignition or something else??

Need a serial # and how many cylinders to figure out what motor you have.
It could be as easy as spraying WD in the key switch or replacing the enricher.Just need to figure out the motor you have.J

I replaced the ignition today and it works A-1 again!
