Just picked up a 1995 Kawasaki Jetski 750. The orange on/off ignition switch seems to be on the blink. It will not turn off the ski, will crank and not start in the on or off position. It seems I need a new switch, but my question is there are four wires going to the switch a black, white red w/stripe red wo/stripe. Which of these wires can I tie together to be on the water until my new switch arrives. Thanks.

Wait for your new switch. You wont be able to turn the ski off manually or if you fall off. the switch is basically your key. Youll be able to start it but you wont be able to shut it off. . Does yours have the lanyard or no?

Yes it does have the lanyard which would kill the motor if I can jumper the switch, so not being able to shut it down will not be a problem.

The problem is the lanyard works off in conjunction with the stop switch. so if you bypass the stop switch youre also bypassing the lanyard.

The marinas and service within about a 50 mile radius of where I live (Wilkes-Barre area of PA) stinks. The only real place to go for good overall service is in the Lake Wallenpaupack area which is about a hour and a half from my house. The old school boat dealer rudeness from the only guy working in the place whose dutys range from repairing the boats, selling parts and cleaning the bathroom is what you deal with here. The only good place to get information and parts is here, without spending my whole day driving and dealing with morons.
