I have a 1995 Johnson 60hp VRO. I can get it to idle roughly but when I open the throttle at the carb there is a hesitation then it bogs down and dies. Any ideas on what's going on. Thank you.

Yup, sounds to me as though the carb has some junk in the high speed jet.
I would order carb kits and break them down and clean em real good.

I have a 1993 Johnson 70 hp with a similar problem, my friend is breaking down the carbs and cleans them as I write. I'll post an update on our progress as we go along.

If it is to any help I can mention that we have checked compression, sparks and disconnecting the VRO.

By the way, this is my first post here, hi everyone!

As was stated. R & R carbs and clean all passages. At least one low is clogged. Re-check your link and sync.

My problem is now solved! My dear friend, who knows a lot more about engines than I do, cleaned out the carbs for me. The engine runs great now, ordered new gasket-kit and will change as soon as I get them.
