1995 Johnson 40hp trim oil questions

I have searched but I have been unable to find out what kind of oil I should add to the trim/tilt unit. Dexron? I have Mercruiser trim oil also. I assume the three plugs on the unit are the release and the drain and fill?
I just bought this little 16ft fishing boat and this motor seems in very good condition. It is all original. The trim doesn't quite go up all the way though. No signs of leaks. I also thought I should change these 20 year old plugs and maybe clean the airbox up.
Sure runs like a clock on the driveway. Hope it runs this nice in the water!

You can use Dextron II ATF or BRP tilt and trim fluid.

I added some mercuiser oil before I read this. Only about 10ml or so though. Works perfectly now. Maybe I should rain and refill with Dexron?
Plug gap 30 thou for these motors?

As long as it's working just leave the oil you have in it and use it.
