1995 GTX - No beep upon startup

Hello everyone. I am hoping someone can tell me why my jetski (1995 GTX) does not "Beep, Beep" upon startup. It's supposed to beep twice according to the manual, but it doesn't. Does anyone know the cause of this, or better yet, how to resolve the problem. No biggie, it still runs and all, just wondering why it doesn't beep. Please tell me the problem, thanks.

does it beep any time I had one with a beeper that went bad, it is in the handle bar cover, try grounding the over heat sensor on top of the engine and see if the darn beeper is even working. although your 95 uses a old style key and I don't believe they make a sound when you hook up the key like a dess system does and with a dess I had a bad reader that would allow it to start but never beeped twice, changed the reader and it worked fine.

Okay, so where is the reader located? Under the handle bar cover? If so, how would you even get it off? It is a '95, and it does say in the manual that it is supposed to beep. Just wondering why it doesn't...? If it is the reader like you said, where do you get them? Any boating store? BoatUS? Please get back to me on this...

is it a electronic key ,95 had the old key and they didn't beep check the last 2 digits of the vin number, 95 was a real lime green with a flat type seat 96 is a forrest green with a thick seat and a totally different hull than a 95

It's lime green/purple one seat in flat and green and the other is green/purple and the back is raised. It's a lime green though, not dark. Pretty sure its an elec. key too, as is has a little round circle on the end of the lanyard that "plugs" onto the ski. It definitely is a 95 b/c I checked the vin. The manual says its supposed to beep. So is it supposed to beep or not?

no 95 gtx had the old push button lanyard key and they did not beep twice when the lanyard was hooked up. they beep one long beep if the battery is low when you try to start it. other than that there isn't a dess key on that model, dess started on the next year gtx
