1995 ford 302 5.0L V-8 (EFI) does not go over 3000 RPM's ?

I have a 1995 ford 302 5.0L V-8 (EFI) that runs great overall but does not exceed 3000 rpm's with the throttle down all the way, I've tried adjusting the throttle cable but can not find a way to adjust and make it go faster......If anyone has any idea's or may seem to know what the issue is, please let me know....

I'm guessing that wide open throttle rpm's on your engine should be around 4200-4400 rpms.

Is this a new problem? First question would be 'what changed?' The link above gives you some ideas on what to look for.

Yes I believe so but I'm not 100% sure because this is a V-8 5.0L motor and should put out some horse power, the motor was rebuilt and recently installed....should I change my prop
