1995 force 120 hp cutting out

I just bought a 120 force<br />Everything has been going great until i put on a new locking gas cap<br />now it wants to die on me while driving down the lake<br />can it really be the cap or is there maybe something else i am missing here<br />cap is brand new and this has never happened<br />did not have old cap to put back on so dont no if is really the problem or something else<br />did remove cap and it seemed to work great<br />just really caused a panic all the sudden<br /><br />thamk you for any help<br />and this is a rerally great site<br /><br />bobby

The problem could easily be the new gascap. Sounds like the cap vent is not working and it cuts the air off from the tank, preventing gas flow. It needs repair or replacement with the proper type.
