Looking at the gear case parts diagram for the 1995 150 I see #7 Driveshaft seal. There are three of them two guess I would call regular one spring one sided seals, The third seal listed part # 0341280 is referred to as lower seal is a double lip double spring seal. On this motor does the bearing housing use all three seals? Or is part # 0341280 an upgrade or replacement for the traditional two back to back seals?
I am also working on my 1991 150 HP Johnson which I purchased BRP lower unit seal replacement kit for. The kit contains extra seals as it covers several different lower units. Part # 0341280 is included in this kit but not listed as a part for the 1991 motor. Can it be used in addition to the two listed seals? Or instead ? Or is it to be considered extra as are many other parts in the kit?

I just bought that seal for my 1997 175 fastrike LU..... the driveshaft seal is a one piece seal...I have several of these type motors so I looked up the 95 V6 and it shows the three different seals upper lower and then the same part # as the ONE seal I have 0341280...so I looked up the housings... the seals go in, and they are DIFFERENT part# for 95 and 97..... food for thought

Looks to me like the following for the '91:

0329922 upper (early)

0329923 lower (early)

0341280 late production single seal
