Hi,
Very new to this, the trim goes up and down fine but the gauge does not register the correct position, it goes up and down but it is not right. I am hoping something simple as I do not even know where the sending unit is.
1st boat, just sold mx bike and got a more family friendly activity.

The sender should be on the starboard side of the drive, just behind the transom plate.Turn your steering hard to the left and you should see it. It should be round with 2 screws holding it in place.loosen the screws and it has a small amount of adjustment by turning it left or right...It is probably black plastic, round and about 2 inches wide..

There is a connectin inside the boat right after the wires come thru the transom...check those for corrosion also..

I tried adjusting mine and never could get it right..Heck most boats i have had the guage never worked very well..
Good luck..8)

I've never been on a boat where those things worked just right either.

Before it gets you to flustered, I would get used to the fact you are gonna have to do it mostly by feel.
