Hi all, been a lurker for a while, first post. Looking to get into my own boat to enjoy with the family.

https://vancouver.craigslist.ca/rch/boa/d/16-boat-for-sale-update/6692209908.html

I came across this ad while cruising craigslist - what do you think? Issue with the Honda motor could be anything i presume until further inspection... Wondering if you guys think this boat is worth buying considering the Honda would have to be repaired yet? Worth the hassle/cost? Boat seems clean, comes with trailer and 2.5hp yamaha...

Thanks!

We really can't help a lot unless we can see the ad. It's up to you if you want to share it.

oops I see you added it ;-)

Clean boat and motor, but very old. I wonder if the price is a bit too high with a bad motor. Don't know much about Hondas. Let some more members chime in.

My opinion, they're dreaming on the price. The only chance it MIGHT be worth that kind of money is if the engine was in perfect running condition and being sold in the prime sale season (May 1st -4th of July). This time of year, with a questionable engine, it MIGHT be worth 2500 to somebody really wanting a 4 stroke.

If the trailer, engine and boat were brand new how much would the package cost ? would you say 15-18 grand ? The boat and engine looks clean, maintained and well priced at least to me. Anyone mechanically inclined with that engine brand, could have it serviced and put 100% operational at a very low cost. If engine needs to be sent to a dealer, it's a different story.

Happy Boating
