1995 40 HP FORCE NO FIRE

Motor was running fine except when putting in in gear, it would die.This engine has run like brand new always.Anyway when slowing down the engine died and has not started since.Tried plugs first, no fire,checked fuse. I am assuming the engine has a stator and a ignition box for fire, am i correct?What do yall think it could be?This has been the most reliable,best engine ive owned.

Does this mean the engine didn't fire, or that you have no spark?<br /><br />Check for spark, do a compression test, comfirm fuel delivery to cylinders.

When it first stranded me it had no fire,i've checked compression,fuel.Ive tried messing with overboard switch,wiring harness,connections.
