Anyone with knowledge of this engine and can help with my engine using too much fuel?
I went 2 miles in my boat and used 5 gallons of fuel. Engine runs bad with fuel line attached. Detach fuel line and wait a few seconds, engine runs like a top. Never heard of an engine getting too much fuel. You could see it on the water, everywhere.
I will replace the fuel line and tank for GP but need to know if a serious problem with engine.....help?????

Shad-Rig

I would certainly agree with the previous post. While looking at your carb and fuel lines give your primer a little sgueeze to see what from and where you have fuel spitting out at you.If it is a line leak ,great. If it is flowing out the carbs ,then needle and seat requireing all carbs removed.Use a water separtor if you don't already have one.

Have 2 units like yours. Agree with both of above, also check to be sure all fuel lines are on well. Fuel "block"- the nipples on it (at back of engine) is easy to hit and break/crack with cowl, leaks like you said, and runs awful. Newer models have metal bracket to keep this from happening. It fits older units. A life and $$ saver. Typical run for ours -single engines- 50 hp on 16' whalers, make 3 round trips of approx 5 miles each way (10 x 3 =30 mile total) on <6 gal gas. Good luck.
