Just ordered a new riser gasket and was told I needed 2 of them, one for either side of the restrictor plate. I don't have a restrictor plate installed and wondered if I needed to put it in. I did a search and found info on exh flappers and mercs. but no one specified if the restrictor is needed or exactly why its there. Any info from someone would be appreciated. I ordered the plate anyway, only 11 bucks but would like to know its purpose. Thanks
