I have a 1995 25hp suzuki that runs for about 3 mim. Then shuts down and will only run about 1/4 speed. I cleaned the fuel and carbs. It seems to quit when it gets warmed up. Runs OK cold. Any ideals. thanks for the help. matt--b
Hi, Matt.<br /><br />Welcome to the board.<br /><br />Check your fuel system for restrictions and leaks. Tank vent, pickup, lines, primer bulb and even the fuel pump can cause the "run a bit, then lose power" syndrome.<br /><br />Good luck
Hi thanks for the info. I have new tank, fuel line& glass filter. Could one of the reeds be cracked and causeing a loss of internal compression? It has the original reeds. How often if when should they be changed? thanks. Matt--b
Hi, Matt.<br /><br />A reed problem would not be temp or time sensitive.<br /><br />1. Try choking it and/or pumping the primer bulb when it tries to shut down. If that gets her to pick back up it is a fuel supply problem. Fuel pump is one suspect.<br /><br />2. If that doesn't help you may have a heat related failure in your ignition system. Try running her with the cover off to see if keeping the ignition system cooler will get her to run better.<br /><br />Let us know what you find. Good luck.
