My electric motor that drives the tilt /trim pump is a ball of rust. How difficult is it to replace the motor itself? Can it be done on the boat? Or does the entire tilt / trim unit have to come off first? Any tips would be welcome.

Also, the manual I have refers to a TNT (tilt N trim) module that has relays inside. Is this inside the engine cover, or somewhere in the boat?

Follow the wires coming off your TNT motor and you will find your relays. IM unsure of your set up without seeing it, but sometimes you are able to get the motor off without taking the whole assembly apart, sometimes not. All you need to do is take the 3 screws out holding the motor down. If you are unable to do so due to restrictions, youll have to take it apart further. Sometimes you have to spread the transom brackets a bit to slide the unit out. Undo the bolts on the port side, may need to disconnect the steering, slide it to the side just enough to slide the unit out.Gl
