1994 Volvo penta V-6 any thing to watch for?

I am looking at a used boat to buy. It has a 1994 Volvo Penta V-6. Is there anything I should be aware of as far as known problems, etc. Somebody told me they thought it had a lot of aluminum parts and that they would not last.. Is that correct? Will I have to worry about parts availability, especially the "marine" parts?<br /><br />It looks like most of the topics here are about outboards. Is there perhaps another bulletin board that I should also look at?<br /><br />Thanks in advance for any and all input!<br /><br />------------------

Hi Tom,<br />Volvo is good about their parts.<br />If it has a closed cooling system I would not<br />worry about the AL parts, unlsee it was a salt water run boat. If so have a mechanic check it out for you. Spend a little before or a lot later.<br />Hope this helps.<br />...have fun...corm
