Hey everyone. We are considering purchasing a 94 Sea Ray 180 that currently has no motor installed. The seller got it on trade as it sits, with a rebuilt Mercruiser 350 and rebuilt outdrive, both uninstalled. Every 94 180 I've seen so far had the 4.3 V6, with a few 5.0 V8's in Signature series boats. The question is, if this wasn't a Signature series boat, will we be able to fit the longer V8 where the V6 once was? I know things should, for the most part, bolt up with a few hiccups like moving the mounts forward...but I am concerned if there is enough length in the bilge to accommodate the V8. Was a V8 an option for non Signature series 180 bow riders in 94? What is the Signature series? Is it a trim level? Why do I only see V8's in some of the Signature series 180's? Any help with this would be appreciated. Thanks.
