Got this thing from my uncle for free som im not complaining.

HOWEVER, took it out tonight and noticed a noise...

I got it home from sitting a year... changed the battery, plugs and the thing started right up.. uncle said he had it serviced before storing it...

Once out on the water, the thing flew.. hawled my fat self around the lake with no problem. engine sounds awsome, smooth.. clean and plenty of power....

maybe has 20 hours on it..

however, i am hearing a rattle coming from the ski somewhere..only at idle. thinking the shaft is loose or the bearings... it does have a jacked up storage compartment...
i know NOTHING about these things, but am pretty mech-inclined... found this forums asap......

please help me....

it's a 580 engine and they make a lot of noise when they idle as soon as you give it gas it stops try turning the idle up a tiny bit however it usually won't be a problem they just idle a little rough and things rattle around in the hull like the water box or the exhaust hitting the hull, I had one exactly the same year , it was used on my site to demonstrate my steering I pulled a slolom skier and drove with one hand using one of those, they are a ton of fun and not gas hogs, I could drive the heck out of it all day for nothing.

all of the Sea Doo products have noisey drivelines
if the noise goes away when you raise the idle a little bit that is normal. it will really be loud when it is out of the water.

have fun with it

Mike

that rattle is common in sea doos you can buy an anti rattle kit for the hub with a bigger oiler to stop that but they all do it at idle even my 800 xp did
