I recently purchased this boat and question if there is any way to adjust the trim/tilt to raise the outdrive to a higher level. Does not seem to be raising the lower unit to full height. I checked the fluid level at the pump and that is where it should be when lower unit is up. I measured the piston rods at the trim cyclinders and when lower unit is full down there is about 1.5 inches that remains exposed on those rods. When the lower unit is full up there is another 5.75 inches of those piston rods exposed. Total exposed piston rod is approx 7.25 inches. The trim cylinder covers measure about 13 inches, and about 22.75 inches from the foward pivot pin to the rear. I noticed in the SELOC OMC 86-98 stern drives manual that in section 13-8, between step 8 - 9 under "To Install" there is a note that certain models come with limited tilt cyclinders to reduce total tilt rod travel. Suppose to be able to identify these by a letter "L" stamped on the end of tilt rod eye ? Anyone know exactly where the tilt rod eye is that I need to look?
Help!
