I have a 1994 pontoon boat with a 90 hp nissan outboard. The console was removed for upholstery. When reinstalled, the tilt and rpm gauges (seperate gages) do not work. any help out there in how these gauges are supposed to be wired would be greatly appreciated. Also what is the location of the tach terminal on the engine itself

I'm assuming your model is NS90A (maybe a G type with gas assist tilt?). Year is unimportant for servicing, but model/serial is critical. You will want to pick up a Factory service manual, available from any dealer (including me) to review the wiring diagram. The TT sender is a 4-wire unit. The white/yellow are the tach leads. You can drop me an email at the office: paul@obersheimersails.com and we can help you.

The wires are color coded. Unless you are color blind you should be able to match up the colors.

I am glad that you limit yourself to 3 rules. Of course you probably have to, your inflated ego wouldn't allow for any more than that. If you were as smart in the brain as you are in the rear end, you could have comprehended that my question was about the gauges, not the engine itself. I guess that was my fault, didn't think I needed to post questions at a 3rd grade level.

Actually I was trying to help you. The wires coming off of the gauges are color coded to match the engine harness and leads from the control box...And unless you are red/green color blind, you could not make a mistake. I'm not sure why you are so hostile as I did not infer you were retarded. I honestly thought that you hadn't looked at the wires and leads and didn't know that a five year old could identify what went where. Regardless, you have a nice day.

Elvin was/is 100% correct. The gauges are color coded, and the codes match up to the wiring from the motor. This all becomes clear once you review the wiring diagrams in the Factory service manual.
