Hi,
Earlier, I had posted a topic about my motor, which seemed to have a bad switchbox, the middle cylinder was not providing power at WOT. I Had checked gas flow to carb. replaced the plugs, even switch coils to be sure wasnt coil.
While I was waiting on the ordered new switchbox, I decided to replace the water impeller. The motor was not overheating, at least the high temp warning was not going off, water pressure gauge was showing good pressure and motor was peeing. After replacing the water impeller, I took boat out to be sure that I had good water pressure underload, and now the motor is running great. The Water pressure gauge shows what I remember to be about the same pressure. I am now getting full power, and have NOT replaced the switchbox.
Now to my question, does this motor have a high temp limit switch that was cutting out the number 2 cylinder at a lower temp than the high temp warning sender? Or was this an intermittent failure, that might still be temperature related, and the new impeller has motor running at a couple of degrees lower temp, even though the motor wasnt overheating.
I have the new switchbox. Should I go ahead and replace it, or wait until the old one fails.

Thanks,
Gary

Gb.is probably an intermittent.....would be a switch box or coil...get it far enough away from land and it will show up!
