Hello,

I am a cruising sailor and have my johnson 15 on land for a annual carb cleaning/rebuild.
I just checked compression with warm engine.
88psi in both cylinders.

She runs like a bear and has started first pull for 15 months several times daily.

New piston time?

No, 88psi on both means they are wearing equally and as you said it runs like a bear and starts on the first pull, so why fix what isn't broke?

The reason I have some concern is because of my opportunity to work on land in a nice dry spot doesnt come everyday.

But if 88-90 psi is still good then I'll head your advice.

So ya thing I have a fair bit of life left to those cylinders?

if you are rope starting, that is great compression.

As long as they are wearing that evenly you should have a lot of years left in them, I had a dirt bike when I was younger that I rode for a few months and it only had around 50psi on both cyclinders if memory serves, not much power but it got me there and back.
