1994 Gas Cap

I have a 1994 Invader 16ft bowrider. Long story short, my gas cap is gone. I searched online and there doesn't seem to be any straightforward replacement part. Can anyone help me understand exactly what I'm looking for (thread measurment/size) or have a resource to go to? I assume it would be bad to run without a cap or with a rag hanging out the filler hole.

Send me a pic of where the cap is suposed to be. Is it on the back, side or top of the boat? I might have a place you can see if they have one...

Actually, got lucky and found one. I stopped at a shop that had the "standard" filler neck assmbly for $13. I was able to just use the cap and now I have an extra filler neck if I ever need it. Pretty cheap fix, actually. Thanks for your response, GettinOld! Here is a picture from a website of the correct assembly.
