1994 evinrude lower unit years to swap.

This is going on a 1994 evinrude 40hp. This motor didnt come with the lower unit. Im pretty sure the 40hp engine shaft changes in '93 and has different splines in '94. I'm replacing the lower unit and didn't know years that will work. Thanks for the help!
