1994 DT65 Intermitent loss of power

having trouble with my engine not wanting to power up (some times). it boggs down with a "deep throated" sound as the throttle is increased. This usually happens after the initial run and the engine has been turned off.

I can engage the choke for a second while this is happening and she revs up like she wants to go and then boggs right back down.

any ideas?

Have you verified that you are getting enough fuel? Check the primer ball, is it getting sucked closed? If this is happening check and see if your gas tank vent is clogged. Other wise i would check to make sure your carbs are setup correctly. Good luck.

time for a carb rebuild, and replace the fuel pump diaphragm .....
